Geoeye and Digitalglobe Announce Merger
On July 23, 2012 Geoeye and its main competitor, Digitalglobe, announced that they had agreed to merge. Among the benefits claimed were increased scale and customer diversification, over $1.5 billion in savings, the ability to provide a more compelling solution for the U.S. government and more complete solutions for all customers, and enhanced financial strength.
